We are very excited to introduce the new features we’ve included in the Saffire software with Version 1.8, including the biggest update we’ve had so far this year!

  • The most exciting thing in this release is a complete redesign of your mobile site! As mobile web usage statistics continue to skyrocket, we think it is more important than ever to make sure your Saffire mobile site keeps you a step ahead of the game.When you visit your mobile site for the first time on Saffire 1.8, you’ll immediately notice big changes. Your navigation buttons are much larger, making it easy to explore. Buttons that encourage actions from your customers, such as buying tickets and signing up for your email list, appear front and center. Additional large buttons include customer conveniences like directions and event information.

  • Your customers will now receive an automatic confirmation email when they complete one of your dynamic forms. Previously, a confirmation was only sent if a customer made a purchase. Now, regardless of payment option, your customers will be worry-free in knowing your event received their information.
  •  With this release, you now have the ability to add an interactive event map to any dynamic page on your entire website! Use the maps to mark out vendor booths, specify locations for your barbeque cook-off teams or lay out facility rentals. The possibilities are endless!

  •  If you have a Saffire member site, you’ll notice the member site has its own separate dashboard! Take a look at the top of your admin site, you have two tabs reading “Customer” and “Member”. These tabs allow you to toggle back and forth between your sites, making it even easier for you to manage your complete online presence.

  • When you log in to your admin site, you will now be able to view direct messages from the Saffire Team. We’ll be using this feature to post announcements and exciting news straight from us to you. Keep your eyes open at the top of your dashboard for updates!

We are excited to bring you Saffire 1.7! We’ve improved a few of your existing tools and added a new way to contact us for help. Our continued goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to have complete control over your website.

New Features

  • With this release, Saffire has integrated the technology of ZenDesk into your admin site. ZenDesk is a complete online help system where you can get your Saffire questions answered quickly and track our answers. You will see a place to request help as well as posts of the most recent updates from the Saffire team.

General Enhancements

  • If you haven’t tried our integrated photo cropping tool, you may want to check it out now! We’ve improved the tool to allow you to preview your cropped photo before you trim it down. The tool also gives you a heads up if your photo is cropped too small before pressing save.

  • Our goal is to make sure no matter what browser you use, it is easy for you to manage your online presence. If you manage your site in Safari, you’ll notice we’ve improved the process! These general tweaks will create a better experience for all Safari users.
  • You already know you have the ability to add pins that mark specific locations on your interactive event map. However, with this release, if you choose not to add pins, the category bar will automatically disappear, showing just your map in its entirety

  Forms Enhancements

  • We’ve now made it even easier to create unlimited HTML forms within your Saffire site! As you add things to your forms, you can now drag items to the top or the bottom of any of the three columns! This will make it easier for you to continue to improve and build upon your custom forms database.

This great state fair has been a tradition in Colorado since 1872, and we can’t wait to bring new life to their online presence by giving them a Saffire website.

Last fall, Saffire and IAFE announced our partnership to sponsor a new kind of event calendar to promote the fair industry.  Our goal for Fairs Everywhere is to be a one-stop-shop for fairs, vendors, sponsors, volunteers and patrons to find out the very latest information they’re searching for about events in an interactive format.

I want to take a minute to encourage you to update your listing on our site, because customers are using this tool every single day!  In fact, sometimes people call our office to find out information about your events, and our first stop is your Fairs Everywhere listing!

So, what can you do to improve your listing?

    1. Add a great photo!  As your event approaches, if you have added a photo to your listing, we will feature you on the homepage.
    2. Keep your dates current.  Whether your 2012 event has passed or is right around the corner, making sure we have the most accurate information possible is the best way to give your potential customers information.
    3. Provide an accurate description of your event.  Nobody knows your event like you do, so don’t be afraid to brag a little!  Talk about the pieces of your event that make it unique.

As we began talking with our clients about what our software could do to make their lives easier we heard over and over again that they would like to enter their results only once.  They were already doing this with ShoWorks, and we agreed that there was no need to double the effort to get results to customers by entering the information again for their website.

Last week, up made a few minor updates to Saffire that are now live on our customers’ sites!  Here is a quick summary of the changes to bring you all up to speed.

1.  You now have the option to print mailing labels for your SaffireCommerce™ orders! We made sure that our software was compatible with Avery 5160 labels.  You can also add custom text on the receipt so you can use it as a packing slip.

2.  Now changing your homepage featured events is easier than ever! You will notice on your featured events tab when you add items to your homepage, the dropdown menus automatically sort your events in alphabetical order and display the date for easy searching.

3.  Your Saffire site is now running smoother with faster load speed on your interactive event schedule, which helps event pages load faster too.

We’re already getting started on our next updates.  That’s the beauty of Saffire: we are always improving without having to charge you for every single update.  And trust us, we like not having to charge you!

When we first started working with Rodeo Austin, we created a completely custom interactive map for their website, but we quickly learned that event locations don’t always stay the same.  Rodeo Austin needed to make changes, but didn’t have the control.

We didn’t think events should have to choose between a custom interactive map at a higher price or just a plan PDF, so we were inspired to create a way for Saffire customers to build and control their own interactive map.  We studied the way we created our first custom map and built a tool for customers to choose unique color-coded categories and arrange hotspots themselves.

So you asked, and we listened!  With Version 1.6, you now have the ability to regulate the access levels of all admin users on your admin site.

If you want to let a user help on certain parts of your site but not others, you now have the control.

Working on updates to our software is like keeping a secret you just can’t wait to share, but today is the day we can finally tell!  With Version 1.6, we’re releasing several new features our clients have requested.   We also took a good look at our existing features and made some enhancements we think you’ll really like!

We’ll be updating our clients’ websites this evening, so here are a few highlights you can look forward to.

  • Crop and center your photos with our new image cropping tool. (This was our #1 customer request.  Proof that if you ask, we listen!)
  • Your events will be even more interactive now that you can upload videos from YouTube into an event media gallery, the same way you’ve been uploading photos.
  • Regulate access levels of your admin users so they can only make changes to certain categories.
  • Reach a wider audience now that your customers can translate your website into Spanish, or several other languages, with Google Translate.
  • We now integrate with ShoWorks!  After you enter results into ShoWorks, you can import them into Saffire so they will appear on your website.
  • If you use SaffireCommerce™, you now have the ability to add tax, shipping and fees to online orders.
  • Do you need to restrict the sharing of a photo on your website?  No problem!  You can now decide if email and social media share icons are included at the bottom of a photo.
  • We also did some overall enhancements to the interactive map, dynamic pages and dynamic forms. 

Our goal is to make the tools we create for you as user-friendly as possible, but we know sometimes you need a little help to get started.  In order to provide the support we believe you deserve, we maintain a Help Desk that answers frequently asked questions from our customers.

With Version 1.6, we also created several videos of our team using the new features as a quick tutorial for our clients.  Check out our YouTube channel for the latest episodes of Saffire 101.
